Skype 4.7 for Android improves battery consumption

Skype for Android

Skype for Android, updated to version 4.7, introducing a new and improved algorithm, for the management of power consumption, when the application is in the background. The improvements allow Skype to run in the background without a negative impact on the battery. However, to obtain these results, the notifications for the group chat have been temporarily disabled, waiting to be re- enabled by default with the next update. Anyone interested in notifications from the group chat can still manually reactivate going to act in the Notifications menu, found under the Settings item and choosing “Synchronize group messages”.

The new version also introduces some bug fixes, including fixed a bug that caused KitKat on a malfunction of the camera when it was synced in the background; fixed an issue where audio and video for the tablet does not come with Bluetooth; the Windows Live Messenger contacts are now marked under Skype contacts and not at All contacts.
The update is available on Play Store.
Required Android varies on the devices.
