How To Install Android 4.4.4 CM 11 M8 Stable ROM on Galaxy Nexus I9250

Samsung Galaxy Nexus I9250 device has received a new update by using a stable custom ROM named CyanogenMod 11 M8.

This article will teach you how to flash this new custom ROM on your device. The CM11 M8 stable ROM is based on Android 4.4.4 KK and the CyanogenMod team  has released this ROM as one of the most stable custom ROMs.

Prerequisites:

• Flash this new CM 11 M8 custom ROM only if you have a Samsung Nexus GSM model number I9250.
•  To verify the device’s model number,  go to Settings> About Phone.
• This process is not applicable to Galaxy Nexus I9250, Do not install this custom ROM on any other Android based device Use this step by step guide only if your device is a rooted one and it is running a custom Recovery Image such as CWM or TWRP images.
• Backup your device by saving your actual ROM by using a Nandroid ROM backup; If you use a  NANDROID Backup,  you can easily restore your actual ROM in case something goes wrong. A factory reset is required to get rid of all data files flashed by the actual installed ROM.
• If you want to save your installed applications, SMS texts messages and other files, use the Helium application
• Save your Contacts by using your default Gmail account.
• Now, enable the USB Debugging Mode from Developer Options menu.
• Don’t skip any steps from here to flash the new custom ROM on your device.
• This process is for  advanced Android users only.
• Android Source Team cannot be responsible or liable for any damage of your Galaxy Nexus I9250 device or data loss
• Ensure that the device’s battery charge level is more than 65%; this will prevent your device to get a forced power off during the  installation process.
• This new custom ROM based on the latest KitKat 4.4.4 OS . This update is not very much device friendly.

How to install the new CM 11 M8 Android 4.4.4 ROM

Download the new CM11 M8 Android 4.4.4 ROM zip file from here.

1. Now, download the Gapps for Android 4.4 KitKat pack from here.
2. Connect the device with your PC, copy both zip files to your device’s internal storage.
3. Do not extract these files, only save on your PC.
4. Turn off the device and make sure that it isn’t connected to your device.
5. Turn on the device on the Galaxy Nexus device’s Recovery Mode.
6. Now, take a full Nandroid Backup for your actual flashed ROM.
7. For CWM you need to select the  ‘Backup and Restore’, onfirm for TWRP,  press backup then swipe to confirm.
8. Do not skip the Nandroid backup step.
9. Next, use a Factory Reset action, or CWM you need to select ‘Wipe data/ Factory reset’
10. For TWRP use Wipe option.
11. Confirm the Factory reset, move to the next step.
12. Now, start the flashing process of CM 11 M8 custom ROM for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus I9250 device
13. If the device has a CWM custom Recovery Image, select ‘install zip from sdcard’, ‘choose zip from sdcard’: for TWRP press Install.
14. Now, find the CM11 M8 zip file and confirm for its installation.
15. Do not press on any other buttons until the flashing process is successfully over..
16. Flash Gapps zip file using the same steps as above.
17. Return to custom Recovery display once all files are successfully flashed.
18. Reboot the device into normal mode now.
19. Note: the first boot process might take around 10 minutes before all files are successfully installed.
20. Insert your contact data account to enjoy the new CM 11 M8 custom ROM OS.
