Alcatel Starts Pushing Out Android 4.4 KitKat Update For One Touch Idol X+

Alcatel was very restrained about software updates for its phones.
Fortunately, users of Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ will now receive an update to the latest version of the operating system, the Android 4.4.4 KitKat. Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ devices will start to get the update starting on August 15 and will be available to all Idol X+ users that run on the latest version of Jelly Bean.

For those who do not know, we must specify that Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ is a high-end smartphone released on 2014, Q2, with a 5-inch LCD IPS display, supporting a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. Inside has 2 GHz octa-core processor, 2 GB of RAM and dual-SIM capabilities.

Alcatel One Touch Idol X + offers a 13.1 MP rear camera, with autofocus and LED flash and 2 MP, front-facing camera. The device is powered by a non-replaceable 2,500mAh Li-Ion battery and in terms of connectivity it offers features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB, GPRS, EDGE and GPS.

The new Android 4.4.4 KitKat software update is being rolled out in stages which mean that its arrival may vary based on your region. Once your Alcatel Idol X+ device will become eligible to receive the new update you should receive an automatic system update message in your notification bar. All you need to do is tap on the message and follow the step-by-step instructions appeared on the screen.

Additionally, in case the system update notification failed to appear, you can perform a manual check under Settings -> About phone -> System Update -> Check for Update.
