The highly anticipated Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is now available for more users of Samsung Galaxy S3 devices in US. Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone is one of the most popular with high-performing hardware and creative software features.
Some weeks ago, Samsung USA stated that it would be launching an Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for Samsung Galaxy S3 in the near future, depending on internal testing of every carrier.
The first Galaxy S3 Android 4.4.2 KitKat update arrived earlier this month for the Sprint Galaxy S3 users, Sprint being also the first carrier that pushed out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for Samsung Galaxy S4, in February.
The Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile operated by Sprint pushed out their Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.4.2 KitKat updates, several days ago. Because usually, there have been gaps between Android updates for major carriers and updates for regional or smaller pre-paid ones, these rollouts came as a good surprise.
Yesterday, U.S. Cellular updated its software support page to inform of the transition from Android 4.3 Jelly Bean to Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The U.S. Cellular Galaxy S3 users have two options to upgrade to the newest version of Google’s OS.
First option lets you upgrade your device without using a USB cable, just by registering to a Google account and using Wi-Fi connection. After your device is connected to Wi-Fi, go to Setting>About Device>Software Update>Ok and follow the on screen information.
The second option is the upgrade using Samsung Kies and the USB cable. In order to update your Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone using this method download Samsung Kies, connect your device to your PC using your USB cable, open Kies, click Firmware upgrade to start the upgrade process.
Once you have updated your Samsung Galaxy S3 device you will experience a more User-Friendly Interface, faster Multitasking, new Messaging Experience, Wireless Printing Capabilities and more.
The Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for Samsung Galaxy S3 from AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and others have yet to roll out, and for now nothing about that. Usually, those three carriers are weeks behind Sprint and U.S. Cellular at this point.
