Android 4.4.2 OTA Update Available for Droid RAZR HD and RAZR HD Maxx

As you probably know that the soak test with Android 4.4.2 KitKat update begun last week for Motorola Droid RAZR HD and Droid RAZR HD Maxx devices. Now, the Verizon carrier is rolling out the new firmware for its users. The Big Red Company updated their support page with the official changelog for Android 4.4.2 update, saying that the new update is now pushed out for its users.

The new Android 4.4.2 OTA update will be rolled out in stages for Motorola Droid RAZR HD and RAZR HD Maxx devices, that’s meaning not all users will be able to receive it in the same time to download and install the same.

Once the new update is ready to be downloaded and installed on your device an automatically system update message will appear in the notification area. Alternatively, users who didn’t receive this automatically notification can check for the update manually following the path: Settings > About phone > System updates > Check now.

The new Android 4.4.2 OTA update is labeled 182.46.10and it comes with numerous new features, improvements and bug fixes. We can note that the new immersive mode, better security, new Location menu, SMS integration for Hangouts application from Google, a better power management, transparent status bar, transparent nav, white status bar icons, Droid Zap 2.0 update, a better WiFi and Roaming and more.

As you can see this new update is a major one for Droid RAZR HD and RAZR HD Maxxand it will have a size of over 500 MB. That’s why in order to avoid data charges we recommend you to download this software update file by using a stable WiFi network connection.
