The new Android 4.4.2 update is now available for Verizon Galaxy Note 3 devices; the information comes from our friends at Droid Life where we can see that the new update went live. Moreover, there is a screenshot that prove that.
So, the new firmware (Android 4.4.2 update) for Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 3 device is only available for download and install by using the KIES and the Verizon Software Upgrade Assistant.
If you want to update your Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to Android 4.4.2 KitKat update by using the KIES app, then you need to connect the device to the PC by using a USB cord, then open the KIES application and check for the new firmware.
For Windows or a Mac PC you should be available to download and install the Android 4.4.2 firmware on your Galaxy Note 3 device through Verizon’s Software Upgrade Assistant. For the installation instructions you can visit the Big Red site from here.
Unfortunately, the new Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4.2 update is not available for download over-the-air, but the firmware file is available for download trough KIES and the OTA update should follow shortly.
Once the update will be rolled out by OTA, you should receive an automatically system update message in the device’s notification area. Only that you need to do is to tap on it, then follow all the on-screen instructions.
Moreover, if you did not receive yet an automatically notification then you can manually check under the following path: Settings > More > About phone > Software updates > Check for software updates.
As you probably know that the new update will be pushed out in stages, that’s means that some of Note 3 devices might not be able to download and install it right away.
The new update is expected to come with numerous new features such as immersive mode, white statusbar icons, color emoji support, cloud printing, transparent statusbar, fullscreen album, movieart in the lockscreen, Samsung native applications, an optimized Samsung Keyboard, security enhancements, performance boosts and more.
