Android 4.4.2 update now available for Verizon’s Samsung Galaxy S4

If you are one of the Samsung Galaxy S4 users from Verizon carrier you need to know that the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKis OS is pushed to your device. You only have to check your device’s notification bar to find out if a new firmware version KOT49H.I545VRUFNC5 is available for installation, and you will enjoy an improve performance of your Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone.

Additionally you can go to the Settings menu-> General ->About Phone->Software Update->Check to manually search for updates.
If an update is not there, do not worry because as usual the update is pushed in stages, meaning that, in the next days, this will hit your device.
Use a stable WiFi connection before downloading and installing the update. After downloading check in the About Device and make sure that the firmware version is I545VRUFNC5.

The update is coming with pre-loaded apps like ISIS Wallet, Verizon Cloud, VZ Protect (version 2.0.0), Audible app (version 1.5.4), plus with the addition of Google Hangouts, Google+ User Location widget and Google Printing framework.

There are multiple fixes such as Shortcut Folders on Home screen, Backup Assistant Plus contact sync, bugs when using KNOX app, Contact issue when using messaging and dialer apps.

Some other improvement have been made, that you will notice on your device once you will receive the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update.
