This week HTC’s Vice President of Management department, MO Versi, announced that in its Twitter channel that the HTC Company will push out the Android 4.4.3 firmware update for its unlocked and international model of HTC One M8 device. According to the same source the new update will be available later this week.
As you probably know that the new update is already available for HTC Sprint devices. The new Android 4.4.3 has a surprise for all its users, the company’s engineers have manage to integrate the Android 4.4.4 security fixes in this actual firmware for HTC One M8 Android device.
So, the HTC One M8 device won’t receive the latest Android 4.4.4 update at all and the next update after this Android 4.4.3 OS will be Android L.
In addition, the HTC Company promises that the latest Android L update will be rolled out for both HTC One M7 and HTC One M8 within 3 months after the Google will send the final Android L’s code.
The new Android 4.4.3 update will be pushed out in stages that means not all HTC One M8 device’s owners will receive the firmware update in the same time. Once the new HTC One M8 device will receive the new update, it will be visible on the device’s notification panel. All that you need to do is that to tap on the new notification and then to follow the on-screen instructions.
If the new Android 4.4.3 firmware notification fails to be displayed then you’ll need to perform a manual verification under the next path: Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check for software updates.
Note that the new update will be available only for the international version of HTC One M8 and not for a carrier-locked One M8 device for the moment.
