Android 4.4.3 Update Suspended For AT&T HTC One M8 Due To Severe Battery Drain

HTC One M8

AT&T started few days ago to push out the Android 4.4.3 to its HTC One M8 variant, but, unfortunately, after many users updated their devices to the new firmware some of them have experienced severe battery drains, so AT&T decided to suspend the Android 4.4.3 update for further review, according to PhoneArena website.

Although the carrier did not specified for the time being how long it will take until the Android 4.4.3 roll out will be started again for HTC One M8 devices, but the carrier will fix for sure this battery drain bug and will resume the update.

On the other hand, AT&T did not specify anything about their plans to help the HTC One M8 users who already updated their devices to Android 4.4.3 and are experiencing the battery drain issue.

Anyway, if you are an AT&T subscriber and for some reason you get a notification on your HTC One M8 device to update to Android 4.4.3 do not do it until further notice.

Verizon is also expected to bring the Android 4.4.3 update to its users in mid-September, with extra features like Extreme Power Saving Mode, a mode where several power-saving measures are taken in order to get the device to last up to 3 hours for each 1% of battery life remaining; feature that is more than welcome, especially for those that are using their devices excessively.

Sprint and T-Mobile already rolled out the Android 4.4.3 update to One M8 handsets, but, fortunately, their subscribers have not complained about any issues.
