Android 4.4.4 KitKat OTA Update now available for Nexus Devices in India

Nexus 5

As you probably know, Google released the Android 4.4.3 OTA update to various devices. The Android 4.4.3 update included several bug fixes and security enhancements.

The Motorola Moto G devices also received the Android 4.4.3 KitKat software update this month, starting with the single SIM international variant.

Last week, Google published online factory images for Nexus devices with the recently unveiled Android 4.4.4 KitKat, and it was reported that the latest Android update would start rolling out to Nexus 5 devices and gradually to become available across all regions soon. Moreover, Google Play Edition devices are anticipated to get the Android 4.4.4 update soon.
This new update is only meant to solve some security issues such as OpenSSL attacks. Also, we find that the new update does not include kill-switch function, multi-circulated lately.

Now, Android 4.4.4 KitKat update started to roll out over-the-air to Nexus 5 devices in India, to be followed by the other Nexus handsets from India.
The software will upgrade your Nexus 5 to Android 4.4.4 KitKat, and will bring performance improvements, security and stability bug fixes and changes to WebView and Chromium Web browser.
Google’s latest update is 2.5MB in size and is an incremental update from Android 4.4.3 KitKat version KTU84M to Android 4.4.4 KitKat version KTU84P.

The Android 4.4.4 KitKat software update does not bring anything different in terms of UI interface and features, only as we already mentioned the existing bug fixes as you can see from the detailed changelog from Funky Android.

Once an OTA update to Android 4.4.4 KitKat is available for your Nexus 5 device, you will receive an automatic system message in the notification bar and all you need to do is tap on the message and follow the on-screen guidance to complete the installation, you can also check manually by going to Settings-> About phone->System updates->Check now, and follow the indications to update your device, if an update is available.
