Owners of Motorola Droid Mini, Droid Maxx and Droid Ultra devices will receive an official Android update that will move their OS to version 4.4.4, as Motorola noted on its global portal. The complete changelog of the new update was posted on Motorola global portal as well as on Verizon Wireless support webpage for the mentioned devices.
The official Android 4.4.4 update will bring stability enhancements, new features and some bug fixes.
Users will experience an improved camera with better image quality, new ISIS app for NFC payments and more stable Bluetooth connectivity.
Verizon is also pre-loading the Droid devices with new apps for VZ Cloud and Visual Voicemail.
Users of Motorola Droid Mini, Droid Maxx and Droid Ultra can update their devices over-the-air-on, and they should begin to receive system notifications soon if they have not already.
If you are a user of one of the mentioned devices you can use the built-in software update feature on your smartphone once you received the automatic system message, you just need to connect your device to a stable WiFi Internet connection, tap on the notification received ->System update->”Yes, I’m in” and after the download is complete tap Install system update->Install now. When the software is installed, your device will restart and will be updated with Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
We should mention that before you proceed with the download be sure your device’s battery is fully charged to avoid interruption due to lack of power during the installation process.
In case you have not received the OTA notification of the new Android 4.4.4 software, manually check under Settings > About Phone for it, and if a new update is available for your device follow the instructions above.
