Android 5.0 Lollipop: which devices are getting it and when

Android 5.0 Lollipop released on 15th October is the Google’s latest version of Android and, as Google describes it, is the most significant release for its operating system. The final version of Android Lollipop is planned to be released in November.
Android L is characterized by Material Design, a new design philosophy, which makes each interface to change a little different, new notifications system, different multitasking menu, in which they are brought both web and native applications, and the Quick Settings menu with shortcuts for usual settings like WiFi, Bluetooth or location and many new controls such as flashlight, hotspot, cast screen controls and more.

the Multi-User Support is the feature that allows Android L’s users to personalize their device’s screen, another thing that Lollipop users will notice is the estimated time feature that will left for completely charging the battery, and in additionally there ill be better battery life thanks to its Battery Saving feature.

Numerous manufacturers have already announced their intentions regarding the update to the new version of Google’s operating system to their devices.

If you own a Nexus device or a Google Play one, you will be the first to get the latest version of new Android OS on it.

HTC One M7 and M8 will receive Android 5.0 Lollipop in 90 days and next on the list is HTC One Mini and Mini 2, but currently there is not an official date of updating to the new version of Google’s OS.

Sony announced that firstly the Xperia Z series will taste the lollipops flavor, starting with Sony Z Ultra Google Play Edition. Others Sony devices will receive Android L early next year.

The list of Sony devices that will move to Lollipop includes Xperia Z, Xperia ZR, Xperia ZL, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1S, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z2, Z2 Tablet, Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact, and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.

Firstly, Motorola will push over the air for next devices: Moto X, Moto G, Moto E, Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx, si Droid Mini.

LG is yet to reveal when is updating its devices to the newest version of Android, but surely LG G3 is going to get Android 5.0 Lollipop by the end of the year.

The LG G Pro 2 is probably going to join LG G3 since both are the LG’s flagships in the present. However, more LG devices will be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop such as the LG G3 S, LG G3 Stylus, LG G2 and the mid-range L90 and L70.

Although, Samsung has not officially said when its devices will be updated with Android Lollipop, but it seems that the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Alpha will get an update very soon.

Samsung Galaxy S5 and Note 3 will also likely to see the Android L update by the end of this year, while mid-range smartphones like the Galaxy S5 Mini, Galaxy S4 and S4 Mini should get Android L, but users of these devices might have to wait a while longer than the newer models.

Besides, there are many other devices that will switch to the new version of Android, and unfortunately many that will not.
