The new code is the 16h beta of VLC for Android and is namely version 0.1.4. It is especially developed for fixing issues with Android 4.4 KitKat.

According to of the official developers’  changelog the previous version had improved decoding speed and also it solved a few crashes and bugs.

Moreover, if there the users have audio issues, now a setting allows them to use different audio method, like AudioTrack- Java.

Additionally, you have now possibility to settings to control quality vs speed, and now you have available a setting for video output, the YV12 is the fastest and RGB32 the safest.

No other significantly changes have been added in this latest update, but you should remember that it is a beta version, and we can safely assume that more features and enhancements will be integrated in the next version.
