Firmware build 14.4.A.0.108 based on Android 4.4.4 now rolling to Sony Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra devices

Users of Xperia Z1 Compact devices has already started to enjoy the Android 4.4.4 update on their handsets and now, as expected, is time for owners of Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra devices to receive the version 4.4.4 of Android KitKat.
The new build is listed as number 14.4.A.0.108 to the Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra( similarly to Xperia Z1 compact) and will introduce Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

The new firmware build will come to both devices with the latest improvements and security updates from Google, updated and improved camera experience, increases when using Google voice, Music streaming, Google+ and Contacts, the latest versions of Sony apps and also with bug fixes, optimisations and improvements, as we can read on Sony’s software webpage.
The Android 4.4.4 firmware is rolling out now to the Xperia Z1 (C6903) and Xperia Z Ultra (C6833) variants, and it has already hit a number of markets, so if you own a Xperia Z1 or Xperia Z Ultra device you should receive it soon.

As this is an OTA stage rollout, and like all OTA updates, the new update will not be available for all users in the same time but it is expected to be pushed out in all regions soon. Once your Xperia Z1 or Xperia Z Ultra device will be ready to receive a new update you will be prompted with a system update message in the notification bar, all you need to do is tap on the message and proceed as you are guided on the screen.

If you want to check the update availability, go to Settings -> About phone -> Software updates -> System updates.

Remember that in order to avoid data traffic and additional charges is recommended that you  use a stable Wi-Fi connection when you download and install a new update.
