Firmware Update 17.1.2.A.0.314 Rolling Out To Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet SGP521 LTE Variant

After the certification received from PTCRB some days ago, Sony has started now to push a new firmware build number 17.1.2.A.0.314 for its Xperia Z2 Tablet the LTE variant with the series SGP521.

Owners of Xperia Z2 smartphones received the same software build 17.1.2.A.0.314 that brought to their handsets stability improvements, enhanced touch performance and charging when the device’s battery is low. At the moment, because it was not updated, Sony’s support webpage is not providing a complete list with all the improvements of the new firmware, but we should see an official changelog soon. Anyway the same improvements that users of Xperia Z2 handsets are enjoying right now we should see also on Xperia Z2 Tablets LTE variant.

As we have said in a previous article where we announce you about the certification of the new firmware for Xperia Z2 Tablet, this  is still based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, as well as the firmware number 17.1.1.A.0.402 currently running on your device.

As usual, the new firmware build number 17.1.2.A.0.314 will roll out over-the-air to Xperia Z2 Tablets, so once your device is ready to receive it you will be notified by the system with an automatic message. Tap on it and select download, once the download is complete choose install and then follow the instruction appeared on the screen.

Additionally you can check manually for accessible updates under Settings -> About tablet -> Software updates -> System updates.

Note that to download and install a new firmware on your Xperia Z2 Tablet is recommended that you charge its battery completely and also use a stable Wi-Fi connection in order to avoid additional charges.

Owners of Xperia Z2 Tablet the Wi-Fi variants models SGP511 and SGP512, still have to wait a while until a new update will be available for their devices, because it is not known anything about an update at this time.
