Today, Google launched a new version of Google Maps application for Android. The new application comes with some changes at the UI, enhancements, optimization and bug fixes.
Unfortunately, there isn’t any official changelog but the new application has been tested by Android Police Team, and they reported some new features and improvements that the new application offers for its users.
The new iteration comes with expanded notification for duration, distance and estimated arrival time. There with these expanded notification the users will receive a lot of more information for time to destination, distance to destination, and estimated arrival time, as well.
Moreover, the new release comes with much more compact navigation cards with an optimized way to display the lines, so now 4 lines turn into 2 and 3 lines into 1.
In additional with the new Google Maps 7.3 version comes with Google Analytics for internal app usage reporting, and an undo button image is now available. The new application added Catching of maps.google.is urls and maps.google.ee handling has been fixed. (Note: previously the map has been incorrectly set to catch maps.google.com.ee instead)
Furthermore, Google Maps for Android has support for adding multiple destinations to a route and also the search function was improved.
The Android owners can now download Google Maps 7.3 for Android as a APK file totally free for Android 4.3 and up from here, and for Android 4.0.3 and up from here.
