How to Update Galaxy Core I8260 to Android 4.1.2 JB with Latest XXAMH4 Firmware

  1. Download Android 4.1.2 JB with Latest XXAMH4 Firmware from here and save it in your PC.
  2. Unzip the downloaded firmware file on PC’s desktop.
  3. Download ODIN from here and extract the zip archive on your PC.
  4. Install the ODIN application from the location where you extracted it before.
  5. Download and install the Samsung Galaxy Core drivers on the PC.
  6. If you don’t have the suitable drivers for the device then you can download and install the Samsung Kies application from here.
  7. Now, run ODIN application on your PC.
  8. Power off your smartphone.
  9. Boot the device into download mode. To do this press on power, volume down and home buttons in the same time.
  10. Now, connect the Core device to PC via USB cable.
  11. While the device is running on Download Mode on ODIN software the “added” message must be displayed, and the ID:COM section is yellow or blue.
  12. If the ODIN didn’t recognize the device then you need to unplug the USB cable, close ODIN application and reinstall the USB drivers on the PC once again. Then repeat the procedure from the start.
  13. Click “PDA” from ODIN, browse and pick the Android 4.1.2 XXAMH4 update file.
  14. Now, click on “START” button without change anything else on ODIN application.
  15. When the ODIN application will display the “pass” message and the ID:COM section is turned green the installation process is done.

Troubleshooting:

If Odin might get stuck during the process:

  • Close ODIN
  • Remove the USB cable
  • Force restarts the Samsung Galaxy Core device.
  • Reinstall the USB devices drivers on computer.
  • Repeat the step by step procedure.

If the Galaxy Core smartphone might get stuck into a boot loop then you have to:

  • Reboot the device in Recovery Mode.
  • From recovery mode menu select: “wipe data factory reset” and “wipe cache partition”;
  • Now, return to the main menu of recovery mode;
  • Select “reboot system now”.
