LG started the global roll-out of its biggest tablet in the G Pad series, the G Pad 10.1.
The LG G Pad 10.1 tablet announced in May this year together with the LG G Pad 7.0 and LG G Pad 8.3 will be made available first in the US, followed by other markets in Asia, Europe and Latin America at the end of the month.
Retail availability and prices will be announced locally in each market.
The LG G Pad 10.1 device is powered by Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS and includes features that have been brought from the LG G3, such as Smart Keyboard, Gesture Shot, Touch & Shoot, Dual Window, and also Knock Code the popular LG’s security feature.
The Touch & Shoot feature allows you to tap anywhere on the display and will focus and activate the shutter in a single step. Gesture Shot feature is ideal for Selfies: just clench the hand into a fist within the shot frame will start a three-second countdown before snapping the perfect picture. The Smart Keyboard tracks and analyzes your typing habits and decreases input errors by up to 75 percent. With Dual Window, you can split the tablet screen and run two applications at the same time and also drag and drop content from one window to the other.
As its name hints, the LG G Pad 10.1 has a 10.1 inches IPS WVGA ( 1280 x 800 resolution), and runs a 1.2GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset linked with 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and the tablet also offers microSD card slot for expanded storage.
The G Pad 10.1 is equipped with a 5-megapixel rear and a 1.3-megapixels front-facing camera.
It is dynamized by an 8000mAh battery and will be available in black and red colors.
The tablet weighs 523 grams and measures 260.9 x 165.9 x 8.9mm.
Regarding connectivity, the options are limited to dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct and DLNA functionality.
