Owners of the Sony Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Z1 Compact devices out there might soon get a new software update on their devices since PTCRB has just certified a new firmware.

Featuring version 14.4.A.0.118, the new firmware build was approved for the Xperia Ultra C6833 and Xperia Z1 Compact D5503 models, and might land on handsets with performance enhancements and various bug fixes packed inside, a recent post on Xperiablog states.

The new firmware is however based on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system, the same as the 14.4.A.0.108 iteration currently loaded on the devices is.

No word on when the new 14.4.A.0.118-software release might arrive on devices has been reported, but chances are that it will be deployed in few days, the same as it happened with another firmware builds updates before it.

Once the new software will be pushed out to devices you will receive an automatic system message so keep an eye on your notification bar.
As soon as the OTA update begins to roll we will inform you, so stay tuned.
