New software update build 10.4.C.0.808 started rolling out for the T-Mobile Sony Xperia Z C6606 and C6616 devices

A new firmware build number 10.4.C.0.808 started rolling out for the Sony Xperia Z C6606 and C6616 devices from T-Mobile US carrier.

The 10.4.C.0.808 firmware has been certified for Sony Xperia Z C6606 and C6616 back in April on PTCRB and now is ready to be pushed out to customers.

Accordind to T-mobile support page, the customers, will begin to receive over-the-air the new build between June 2 and June 23. After the update the users will be able to complete a master reset utilizing the hardware keys, and also will see a new user interface improvements, the Music Unlimited app moved to the Walkman app and Play Memories app to Album app.

When 10.4.C.0.808 software update is pushed to your Xperia Z device, you will receive a notification message.

To be able to update to the newest software version, you need to make sure that your device is more than 50% battery charged, and you have 315 MB available memory because the update is 312 MB in size.

Once you have received the OTA notification from the Home screen, pull down the notification bar, connect to Wi-Fi, tap the download to open the Update Center and wait for the download to complete. When the download has completed you need to tap OK to begin the update, now your phone will reboot and install the newest software update.

If your Xperia Z device has not received an OTA notification, you can manually download and install the new software update from the OEM servers.
In order to do that you have two option from your phone or using a computer.

If you chose to download and install the software update from the phone go to Applications from the Home screen ->Settings -> About phone -> Software update. Your device will automatically check for an update.
If an update is available for your device, tap on the X found to the right of the software update and tap the down arrow to download the update.
If prompted, connect to a Wi-Fi network and wait until the download is complete. After the download has completed select the install arrow. Your device will reboot and install the new software update. Be sure to click OK on the software installation confirmation screen.

The second option is to update the software from your computer using a USB cable.

First, install the Sony PC Companion software from here and connect your Sony Xperia Z device to your computer using the USB Cable.
Usually your phone will be updated automatically, if not open the PC Companion software and click Start under Support Zone, then click Phone Software Update. The software update wizard will guide you through the update process.

To check your device’s software version go to Settings->About phone->Build Number.
