Nova Launcher one of the popular homescreen replacement apps for your Android device received an update to version 3.0.
One of the most significant additions is “OK Google” the Google’s voice hotword from inside Nova Launcher app. With the hotword on, you only need to say “OK Google,” and the Nova Launcher app is up to start Google Search, and will instantly start listening for a voice search demand.
We should note that the support is not for all devices just for those devices running Jelly Bean 4.1 or newer to begin with, and not all Android devices support low-power active listening. If your device can use “OK Google” on Google Experience Launcher or Google Search, it can now use it in Nova Launcher as well. The devices with Snapdragon 800 series processors should be capable of supporting it, the same with the devices with latest Qualcomm based hardware, but there may be some exceptions.
With the new version you will be able to customize the shading and color of the text under apps, icon labels, tabs, backgrounds, the distance between widgets will now be capable of being customized to your taste and folders will now permit swiping gestures. The navigation bar from the App Drawer is now totally transparent, and now the Google Search Drawer will agree a honeycomb style.
The Nova Launcher v3.0 also adds some bug fixes and improvements.
Nova Launcher is free for download via Google Play Store.
The application requires devices running Android 4.0 or newer.
