After many rumors and leaks photos Galaxy Tab S tablet from Samsung is official.
Presented at the GALAXY Premiere 2014, an event that was held in New York, Samsung has officially unveiled its tablet announcing to be the thinnest and lightest Samsung’s tablet and with a Super AMOLED WQXGA 2560×1600 qHD display.
The back of Tab S tablet comes micro-perforated, just like the Galaxy S5 the flagship launched earlier this year for a new feeling of grip that is a pleasure to touch, but what strikes about this tablet, is the display, which, in fact, is a unique display of its kind, with colors, contrasts and resolution truly enviable.
Samsung did not use OLED displays in its tablet, except on very rare occasions and only for testing purposes, and we should mention that an OLED display operates without a backlight, thus, it can reveal deep black levels and can be lighter and thinner than an LCD( liquid crystal display) which why Samsung claims that the display is more battery-friendly than other screens types.
The Galaxy Tab S will be available in 10.5-inch, and 8.4, and speaking of display, as already mentioned, will pack 2560×1600 of WQXGA resolutions that results in 288ppi for the Tab S 10.5 and 359ppi for the Tab S 8.4 pixel density and comes with Samsung’s Adaptive Display technology which depending on the environment is capable of adjusting the screen’s settings, in fact, Samsung has aimed to take 90% of the Adobe RGB color, and contrast of 100,000:1, which means that the image will appear to the eye very real.
In addition to the display, the hardware, is an octo-core Exynos 5 Octa chipset with a quad-core 1.9 GHz Cortex A15 and a quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex A7 CPU.
Both Tab S variants comes with 3 GB of RAM, 16 or 32 GB of internal storage, and obviously there is also support for microSD cards, expandable up to 128GB. Speaking of cameras, the both will have an 8M w/ Flash LED rear camera (capable of recording videos in 1080p at 30fps) and 2.1M Full HD front facing camera, and the tablets will be available in two colors Titanium Bronze and Dazzling White.
To give power to these devices, we find a 4900mAh battery in version 8.5 inch, and a 7900mAh for version 10.5 inches, in short, we do not have to worry about staying dry with the battery.
Starting today, the two variants of the Tab S tablet are available in US priced at $399.99 (the Tab S 8.5 inch) and $499.99 (Tab S 10.5 inches).
