Sony Xperia Tablet Z Wi-Fi Now Receiving Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update

Xperia Tablet Z(Wi-Fi) is the last device to receive the Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware update in the Xperia Z series. Now, the firmware build number 10.5.A.0.230 has started to roll out. The update is for now available only for a few regions France and O2 UK, however, all the Xperia Tablet Z(Wi-Fi) will receive an update in the coming days.

The Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the Xperia Tablet Z Wi-Fi model is seeding via Sony PC Companion. The related firmware build 10.5.A.0.230 is also running on other Xperia Z series such as Xperia Tablet Z LTE, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Z devices.

As we mention, users of the Xperia Tablet Z Wi-Fi model can now download the newest Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system from Sony Mobile by the Sony PC Companion connected on Windows PC or the Update Centre on the device.

Keep in mind that since the rollout is new, you must patiently wait until the firmware seeds on other areas because as usually depending on the carrier the release of the software update will be gradual.

The Xperia E1, Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia M2 are the next Sony Xperia devices on getting Google’s newest Android 4.4.2 KitKat version, as Sony Mobile noted in their official blog post.

Moreover, the latest addition from Sony found on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, will include changes and support such as a new user interface and boot animation from PlayStation 4, improved cloud service integration with Sony Entertainment Network and compatibility with Sony SmartWear Experience such as Lifelog app and SmartBand. These features are already presented for any Sony Xperia devices running Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
