How to install Vanilla RootBOX Jelly Bean 4.2.2 for Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100:
- Firstly, download the Vanilla RootBOX custom ROM zip from HERE, and save it in your computer, don’t extract this downloaded zip file.
- Secondly, download the Google Application for the Android 4.2.2 JB from HERE and save it in your computer. This Gapps file contains the important Google based applications that you’ll need after you flash the new custom ROM in your device, don’t extract its content.
- Now, connect your S2 smartphone to your PC, using its original USB cable.
- Move the downloaded files from the step 1 and 2 on the device’ internal SD card.
- After the files are completely copied, disconnect the device to the computer. To do this, remove the USB cable from the computer.
- Power off your smartphone.
- Now, reboot the S2 device into CWM Recovery mode or into TWRP Recovery Mode. In this tutorial, we’ve used the ClockworkMod app, but if you’ve the TWRP Recovery app, the steps are the same.
- From the Recovery Mode select ‘back-up and restore’ option and create a full NANDROID back-up of your current custom ROM.
- Now, return on the Recovery mode main menu.
- IMPORTANT: Select ‘wipe data/ factory reset’ option and confirm this action.
- Select ‘install zip from SDcard’ and after that ‘choose zip from SDcard’, search the Vanilla RootBOX custom rom zip file that you copied previously and confirm that you want to flash it.
- Select again, like above, the ‘choose zip from SD card’ after the custom ROM is completely installed and install the Gapps zip file. Confirm its installation.
- After both the files has been complete installed, you’ve to return in the main menu of the Recovery mode and reboot the system.
- Now, for rebooting the device select the ‘reboot system now’ and wait until your S2 device enter in the normal mode with the new custom Vanilla RootBox ROM installed on it.
- Now, you should enter the Google Account user name and password and enjoy the new custom ROM.
Note that: if your device gets more time to boot the first time with the new custom ROM or gets into a boot loop, in this case, power off the S2 device. After you completely power off the device, you need to repeat the tutorial once again.
