Android 4.2.2 custom ROM CM

The latest CM10.1 has been released and more Android devices are available to get this new RC4 Jelly Bean 4.2.2 custom ROM firmware.  This new firmware is available for Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100G device and we will teach you how to install the latest CM10.1 RC4 built on the Android 4.2.2 platform.

This latest version of CyanogenMod 10.1 RC4 firmware is based on officially Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Operating System, and this new custom firmware is developed to solve some bugs from its previous one.   Pre-requisites:

  • The  CM10.1 RC4 firmware is a custom ROM and  isn’t an official version of Android Jelly Bean OS.
  • This custom ROM firmware has been developed and shared with us by the CM team developers. Applying an unofficial custom ROM on your device, the warranty for your device will be void.
  • Apply this tutorial only if you’re an Advanced Android user.  The CM10.1 can be flashed only on a rooted device. After you have been rooted the S2 device, you need to install a custom recovery image (CWM or TWRP recovery) on your smartphone. Without a custom recovery image which is running on the device,  it isn’t possible to install the CM 10.1 firmware in your smartphone.
  • A custom Recovery Image cannot be installed on an unrooted device.
  • Backup all your data stored in your S2 device’s internal memory.  Backup your actual ROM by performing a Nandroid backup. This backup will serve such as a restoration point. in case something won’t work, and you should to restore the previous ROM.
  • On the flashing process,  you’ll need a PC, USB cable and a S2 device, of course.
  • Uninstall or deactivate all the security programs that are running in both devices (PC and Android device), these kinds of programs can interfere with the installation process and can interrupt the same.
  • Make sure you have enough power left into the S2 device battery life. Enable the USB debugging option on your Samsung Galaxy S2 device to allow the connection between the PC and android device.
  • Apply this guide only for Samsung Galaxy S2 model number I9100G, do not try to apply the same for any other Android device, you risk bricking or damage your device.
