How to install official Android 4.2.2 XXUAMDK firmware on Samsung Galaxy S4 I9500 – manually step by step guide.

  1. Firstly download the Android 4.2.2 I9500XXUAMDK  file for Samsung Galaxy S4 to your PC, after the download is complete extract the zip file content to your PC.
  2. Secondly Download ODIN app v3.07, with this application you’ll flash  the XXUAMDK Android 4.2.2 on the Galaxy S4 I9500.
  3. Now, Power OFF your device and after that reboot it into Download Mode. To do that  you need press and keep holding the Volume Down and the Home buttons simultaneous, and then press the Power button till the Android logo with a triangle are displayed. Confirm with the Power button again to enter into the Download Mode.
  4. Open the ODIN app on your PC, and while your device is in the Download Mode connect the Galaxy S4 device to the PC

    • On the ODIN app click on ‘PDA’ button and browse and load the file that contain ‘CODE’ in its name.
    • Now, click on ‘Phone’ button and browse and load file that contain ‘MODEM’ in its name, in case this file isn’t there ignore this step.
    • Click on ‘CSC’ button and browse and load the file with CSC’ in its name, also if this file isn’t there you can ignore this step.
    • Now, click on ‘PIT’ button and browse and load the .pit file, ignore this step if there isn’t a file with this extension.
  7. Important: Make sure that in ODIN interface the Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options are checked. Check the Re-Partition option  only in case if you selected a .pit file above.
  8. When you want to begin the updating process click on START button in ODIN app. When you’re starting the updating process, you need to wait a few minutes to complete the installation of firmware in the S4 device.
  9. When the flashing process is completed, your Galaxy S4 device will restart.
  10. Disconnect your device to the PC when the home screen is displayed.

Congratulation, now your Samsung Galaxy S4 device has been updated to last Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean XXUAMDK firmware. To verify if your device has this latest update you can go to Settings > About menu, and from there you can read the version of the firmware installed on your device.
