The Canadian variants of the Samsung Galaxy S3 with the model number SGH-I747M began receiving the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat official firmware update on Telus, Rogers and Bell carriers.

The newest firmware update comes with the build number I747MVLUFNE6 and includes all main features that are found on other handsets running the Android 4.4.2 KitKat version such as a new lock screen access menu, full-screen immersive mode, translucent navigation bar, white status bar icons, improved notification slide. You will also receive better media controls for music players that are displayed on your device’s lock screen, expanded emojis, capacity to select the default messaging and launcher apps, camera shortcut on the lock screen, updated versions of a few Samsung apps, closed captions, wireless printing support, improved battery life, better multitasking, better performance and more.

Check your Galaxy S3’s notification bar and see if there are new firmware files available for your device. If the new official KitKat update is available for download confirm the installation so that your Galaxy S3 device to take care of the rest automatically.
We recommend you use a stable Wi-Fi connection in order to download the update for your device.

The new Android 4.4.2 KitKat update should arrive soon for all Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphones on Rogers, Bell and Telus carriers.
As you probably know, this update will be rolled out over-the-air in stages, and not all users will get it at the same time. In case you did not receive a system message, it is worth looking for the new 4.4.2 KitKat update under Settings-> More-> About Device-> Software Update.
