Samsung has finally lifted the veil on a new smartphone talked about in recent months: the “premium” version of Galaxy S5, simply called the Galaxy S5 LTE-A, and launched in Korea.

Using the basic design of the Galaxy S5, the new LTE-A model brings, however, two significant changes. First of all, Galaxy S5 LTE-A is the first smartphone that uses the new and powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 solution. It offers four improved Krait 450 cores which operates at a frequency of 2.5 GHz, a new Adreno 420 graphics core which will be 40% stronger than the former flagship Adreno 330, a video decoder which will support H.265 and 4K, and dual channel memory interface which will provide double bandwidth compared to Snapdragon 801.
The second important innovation is AMOLED screen with QHD resolution (2560×1440 pixels), the first with this resolution developed by Samsung.

Keeping the 5.1 ” diagonal of Galaxy S5 model allowed to achieve a density of 577 ppi, Galaxy S5 LTE-A thus exceeding the density of the newly launched LG G3 and providing the highest density available at this time on a mobile device.
As the name says, the new terminal uses an LTE modem that achieves transfer rates of 225 Mbps, and RAM has also taken a leap to 3 GB.

Beyond these changes, the new Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A offers the same features as the Galaxy S5 model, launched globally a few months ago: ISOCELL 16 MP sensor camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac, infrared sensor, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and IP67 certified housing.

This model will remain exclusive to the Korean market as the company stated that is not planning to launch the Samsung S5 LTE-A outside South Korea.

Currently, the Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A is available in Korea through SK Telecom, priced at 940,500 won(around $920), but in the following weeks, the new device will also be available through other Korean carriers such as LG U+ or KT.
