Good day for the Nexus 5 device’s owners, the new Android 4.4.2 update is just released for their devices and is now available for download. As you probably know that, Google has released the Android 4.4.1 update for its Nexus devices and now another version of Android KitKat is rolled out for Nexus 5, namely version 4.4.2.
The new firmware is named Android 4.4.2 KOT49H, unfortunately there isn’t any official changelog available for it. We can assume that the new update brings camera enhancements, bug fixes for the VM indicator, security improvements and some more bugs fixed.
The latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat OTA update (KOT49H) released for Nexus 5 device is starting rolled out in stages, that’s means not all the Nexus 5 device’s owners will be able to download and install this update in the same time. The new firmware will be released as an OTA (Over-the-Air) update as an automatically notification, but if you didn’t received a notification on your Nexus device’s notification panel, also you can check for it from the next path: Settings>About Phone>System Updates>Check Now.

As you can see the new Android 4.4.2 update comes for both Nexus 5 devices which are running Android 4.4.1 and Android 4.4. Just in case, you previously installed your Nexus 5 smartphone Android 4.4.1 (KOT49E) firmware the new update will be sized at 1.7 MB, but if your Nexus 5 phone is running under an Android 4.4 OS, then the new file measures over 50 MB, so you might use an Wi-Fi conection to avoid the additionally cost on your bill.
