Just like all OTA updates, the Grand 2 Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is released in stages and once your device is set to receive a new update you will automatically get a system notification on your smartphone. All you need to do is tap on the notification and follow the on-screen guidance.

You can additionally check manually for an available update under Settings -> About Phone -> Software update.

According to the official changelog, the new Android 4.4.2 update brings the usual KitKat goodies such as improved user-interface, album art and camera shortcut on lock-screen, new launcher settings, stability improvements, cloud-print support, immersive mode, updated version of Hangouts, Downloads apps and more.

As you probably know Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 was released in the Indian market in January this year with Android 4.3 on board, and this is the first significant Android update for the device.

The update should begin making its way to other regions and markets in the next days for both the single and dual SIM variants.
