Android 4.4 KitKat OTA Update Now Available For ASUS PadFone Infinity And Fonepad Note 6

ASUS PadFone Infinity

ASUS started the rollout of Android 4.4 KitKat via OTA update for the PadFone Infinity and Fonepad Note 6 devices.

The update brings the version of the operating system for the two devices from Android 4.3 Jelly Bean to Android 4.4 KitKat, which includes many improvements and fixes such as immersive mode, transparent status and nav bar, white status bar icons, cloud printing, new Location menu, color emoji support, full-screen album and movie art in the lock screen, updated ASUS apps and the new ZenUI viewed already in ASUS MeMO Pad 7 (ME176CX).

After the Android 4.4 update is installed on your device some apps such as AO Link, ASUS Sync, ASUS Echo, Birthday Reminder, Buddybuzz, Car Home, My Library, My Bit cast, PinPal, Mode Manager, System Bar Lock, Floating app, Device tracker, Watch Calendar and Quick Tool will be removed or renamed. The apps that remain are, of course, updated to the latest versions.

The Android 4.4 firmware is being rolled out to ASUS PadFone Infinity and Fonepad Note 6 devices in stages which means that the arrival may vary based on your region.

When your device will be ready to receive the KitKat OTA update, you should be prompted by the system with a message in the notification bar.

Additionally you can manually check under Settings -> About device -> Software updates -> Check now and see if an update is ready for your device.

We remind you that in order to download and install the Android 4.4 KitKat update is recommended that you backup all your important data because this would reset your device. Also, use a stable Wi-Fi connection and completely charge your device’s battery to avoid the interruption of the installation process.
