Android Wear 4.4W.1 OTA Update Now Rolling Out To LG G Watch, Moto 360 And Samsung Gear Live

Android Wear Watches

Google started to offer an Android Wear software update to version 4.4W.1 for its smart watches. Among the models that are included to receive the update are Moto 360, LG G Watch, and Samsung Gear Live.

The update comes over-the-air, and the firmware images dedicated to each smart watch show that the build number is KGW42N or KGW42Q depending on the device.

You will not find many changes in this new version. The most noticeable benefits would be a better experience while using navigation and when using voice action.

Although the Android Wear 4.4W.1 update is not a major one it will improve your Android Wear experience, so if, for example, you use a Samsung Gear Live you will notice a new interface, especially in the Google Maps Navigation. This change will require that your phone to which your watch is connected to have the latest version of Google Maps installed.

After updating, you will receive alternative destinations from Google through which you can scroll when navigating.

This update also brings an alarm function that allows you to set and edit your alarms on one or more days of the week, after turn on the OK Google.

In the upcoming updates, Google has also announced via its blog that will bring to Android Wear offline music playback, GPS support and customization of the watch interface.
