The Japanese company Epson has officially announced the release, in Italy, of Moverio BT -200 smart glasses. They were shown this year in January at CES 2014 in Las Vegas.
The product consists of a device provided with wearable technology for Augmented Reality that can be used in any environment, either during travel or at home. Designed on the basis of their predecessors, these Glasses are smaller and weights just 88 grams, which is 60 % lighter than Moverio BT-100. The new Moverio are equipped with a series of stylish features for Augmented Reality, such as the front-facing camera, gyroscope, GPS, compass and accelerometer, motion tracking, which allow to detect precisely, the movements of those who wearing them.
Moverio BT -200 allows you to display an image equivalent to the one shown on a screen of 320 inches (8.12 meters) with qHD resolution (960 x 540 pixels). The BT -200 glasses allow users to view the film in 2D and 3D, with integrated Dolby Digital Plus (with headphones). The intuitive multi-touch trackpad ensures maximum control while the dual-core 1.2 GHz processor lets you quickly perform all operations. The autonomy guaranteed by the built-in battery is approximately six hours.
BT -200 operates on the Android 4.0.4 OS and is equipped with a special store for applications, the Moverio Apps Market. The applications can be downloaded to the internal memory of 8GB, or on an SD card, with support for up to 32GB. The device connects to the Internet via Wi-Fi and also has Bluetooth 3.0, DLNA support and Miracast.
