Galaxy S5 Android 4.4.4 KitKat OTA Update Spotted for Sprint

Samsung Galaxy S5

Sprint has announced that their Samsung Galaxy S5 variant will get the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update but without specifying the exact date of OTA launch.

First, rolled out in June by Google the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update has been delivered by several manufacturers to their devices, but Samsung was somewhat withheld to update its devices to the latest version of Android.

Despite its silence, Samsung has offered Android 4.4.4 update to Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy S5 LTE-A for Europe, Galaxy Note 4 and yesterday the Optus carrier confirmed an Android 4.4.4 KitKat OTA update for its Samsung Galaxy S5.

The Sprint Samsung Galaxy S5 Android 4.4.4 update has been spotted on the Sprint’s website wearing the latest version of KitKat, which means that the update is under testing, and  that the rollout could be close.

For now is not clear what Sprint’s Galaxy S5 Android 4.4.4 update will add though it is sure that it will incorporate Google’s bug fixes for Android version 4.4.2, security patches, as well as improvements and tweaks that should enhance the overall experience for users of Sprint Galaxy S5 devices.

Note that the new Android 4.4.4 firmware will only be rolled out for stock Sprint Galaxy S5 devices.

Once you receive the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update on your Sprint Galaxy S5 feel free to share with us all the improvements and fixes that you noticed on your device in our comments section from below.

Other Samsung devices should follow soon to receive the new firmware.
