Google makes Android 4.4.4 official publishing KitKat factory images

Android 4.4.4

Google has just made Android 4.4.4 version KTU84P(Kitkat-mr2.1) official, at a distance of only few weeks since the release of version 4.4.3, coming as a surprise.
Google has released the factory image, as well as the binary files for all supported Nexus devices for Nexus 5, Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Nexus 10, and Nexus 7(2013).

According to Sprint, the new version is intended to correct only some security issues. Even being just a security update, it is certain that there are other hidden improvements that were not ready in time to be included in Android version 4.4.3.
Just like any other firmware release, this release is gradual, and, in fact, the Android 4.4.4 OTA update seems to be available, for now, only for Nexus 5 devices, but of course, it is just a matter of time to be available for other Nexus models.
Anyway, the factory images are available in the official repositories, for the majority of the current generation of Nexus devices.
You can update your device to Android 4.4.4 directly via the Nexus Factory Images page, or you can grab the Kitkat-mr2.1 source code and Nexus Driver Binaries if building custom ROMs is your thing.

There are no information yet if the Android 4.4.4 update will hit the Google Play Edition devices, or the usual carrier supported handsets that most of you have in hand. You can check out your carrier website to see if and when they plan to update your device.
