There are only ten days left until one of the most important events of the year in the IT world, IFA Berlin, and increasingly more interesting things we find out about what will be unveiled during the event. HTC is one of the manufacturers to come this year with an interesting novelty in the world of mobile devices: the Taiwanese smartphone maker will launch the world’s first Android smartphone with an octa-core 64-bit processor on board.
64 bit-processors are already a reality to smartphones like iPhone 5s, but HTC wants to be the first to bring 64 bit Android device on the market and is aiming to do so with a mid-range Desire 820.
HTC Desire 820 has been already officially confirmed via the HTC Weibo account, but for now the device’s specifications are a mystery.
Along with the confirmation, HTC also published a list of its first in the world devices that opened the way for a lot of interesting technologies for smartphones such as: first Android-based phone, first 1080p device, first f/2.0 camera, first 4 MP UltraPixel camera or first smartphone with a Duo Camera.
HTC announcement comes after one of the most popular developers of chips, namely Qualcomm, announced the launch of Snapdragon 615 processor, the first octa-core 64-bit chip in the world.
Shortly after this announcement, the HTC began distributing press invitations for an event that will take place on September 4.
The Snapdragon 615 processor is based on Cortex-A53 architecture and offers support for 4G LTE, and it is possible to be on the board of the new HTC Desire 820, but we need to have patience for official confirmations.
