How to Install Android 4.4.4 KitKat Custom ROM Firmware on Galaxy S I9000

  1. Download the Android 4.4.4 KitKat Custom ROM firmware file from here .
  2. Download the Google Apps pack from this page, save it on your PC.
  3. Next, save these files on the PC desktop folder but don’t unzip it.
  4. Connect the Samsung Galaxy S device with your PC by using the USB cord.
  5. Copy and Paste the downloaded files from the PC desktop to your smartphone’s SD card.
  6. Now, disconnect the USB cable from the PC.
  7. Turn off the device, by pressing the power button and select the ‘power off’, you can also press and h hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  8. Boot the device into recovery mode.
  9. From the recovery mode menu, select ‘Wipe data/ factory reset’ and then ‘Wipe cache partition’.
  10. Go back and select ‘Advanced,  do a ‘Wipe dalvick cache’.
  11. In the recovery select “install zip from SD Card” and then “chose zip from SD Card”.
  12. Now, pick the firmware file and install it.
  13. Repeat the above process and flash the Google Apps pack.
  14. Go back to the main menu,  from there select Reboot system Now.
  15. If your device is stuck a boot loop, go back to recovery, select ‘Wipe data factory reset’ followed by “Wipe cache partition”.
