Leaked: Google Play Store Material Design to Receive Update

Google Play Store

With the introduction of Android L, Google Play Store will change, and those from Android Police took up a number of images of the stage at which the face-lift is at this point. As expected Google Play Store will move to the graphic style that will be present in the upcoming Android version, namely Material Design.

The images shown on the Android Police website provides an overview of the pages devoted to applications and movies, these enjoying a much larger design, where the multimedia content is pushed forward.

Each of the Google Play Store content will include a “hero image” or video on top, an icon below a purchase button, and information such as a description, manufacturer’s name, number of downloads and the release date.

If we compare the new design to what was presented at the Google I / O conference, where Android L was unveiled, we can see Google+ social buttons missing on top. This can mean that Google gave up on this feature, or it has not yet been implemented in the prototype in the images.

There are also other differences from the current Google Play Store design such as the reviews section is more colorful, to be closer to the design of the web interface.

There is a new button called “flag as inappropriate” and the ability to add the product to your wishlist, to post reviews on social networks, the button +1 has been removed from the action bar and put under reviews.

The conclusion is that the interface is presently under construction, which shall be diverse from the one that will be released.

It is clear that it was not established how Google+ will be integrated into the design, and some product pages need more attention when the big picture is chosen.

Although Google has not yet set a release date for Android L, we can expect to see the first devices based on the new version of Android at the end of the year.
