LG Optimus G To Receive Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update Soon

LG Optimus G

LG Optimus G, the first LG’s high-level flagship launched in early 2013, currently runs Android version 4.1, the smartphone has not received updates to Android 4.2 or 4.3 so the owners of the Optimus G device will take advantage directly from the version 4.4.2 (KitKat).

The Android version 4.4.2 KitKat is not currently yet available, but SFR the French operator is testing the new ROM for the LG Optimus G and analyzing its performance. This means that the official update to Android 4.4.2 for the LG Optimus G device will be available soon. We have no news about a possible update to other European countries, but it makes sense that once the update will be available for France it is most probable that the new OS version will also be launched in other countries too. Even the specialized US media have hopes that the LG Optimus G will be updated after learning the news released by SFR operator.

If we agree with some XDA developers, it is likely that the new OS version for LG Optimus G will not bring with it either Knock On or Knock Code.

These Systems often require a different kernel, and most likely is also the case of the new update that will be released for the LG Optimus G for which the makers do not want to complicate with potential problems that would attract installation of functions that the smartphone did not have before.
We still have to wait a little, because the operators are now testing the new update, and for now it is not ready to launch.

Like all updates of this type, the new software update will be rolled out in stages, meaning that the estimated time of arrival may vary depending on your carrier or location. Once your LG Optimus G device becomes suitable to receive the new Android 4.4.2 software update you should receive an automatic system message in the notification area. All you need to do is tap on it and then follow the on-screen instructions.

In the case when the system update notification failed to prompt you, check for the update manually by going to Settings -> About phone -> Software updates -> Check for software updates.
