A news that will cheer up the Android fans that have purchased or own HTC M8 smartphone via the AT&T official retail channel. The mobile carriers have recently announced the release of Android 4.4.4 KitKat upgrade. The users will soon be able to download and install on their device the new Android 4.4.4 KitKat upgrade via Firmware over the air.
According to the mobile carrier, the major software update is close to 200 MB in size and the user need to download the same using a stable high speed WiFi connection. However the AT&T also confirmed that update can be installed through mobile data usage as well. The upgrade is safer to download and install on your device, without causing any damage or others.
As per the changelog that has been posted on the official website of AT&T, the new update comes with some elegant features like security Bluetooth improvements, Usage Manage App, HD Voice, enhanced battery performance, AMBS Cloud Messaging integration, Visual Voicemail, improved security, Ready2GO, and Bluetooth enhancements.
HTC One owners too will be notified automatically about the availability of the new upgrade on their device. However, if one wants to check the status of the update, they can do it via Setting> AT &T Software Update> Check for Updates.
Before starting the installation, charge your device to full and connect it to some high speed WiFi connection and the device will automatically install and restart.
If you want to verify id the update has been successfully installed then you need to go to home screen, tap on to the Setting icon and select the General tab. Tap on About Phone, Click on the Software Information and then you will be able to see if the new version is updated or not. It will show Android 4.4.4 KitKat update as 1.58.502.1 -CL335549.
