Samsung Galaxy S5 4G LTE Goes on Sale in India for Rs 53,500

Samsung, the South Korean company, has unveiled the Galaxy S5 4G-capable variant in the Indian market. Priced at Rs 53,500 this model will be available starting July 20.

Powered by a quad-core Qualcomm 8974 Pro processor clocked at 2.5GHz the Samsung Galaxy S5 4G variant supports eight 4G LTE bands. To make a comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S5 variant already available in the Indian market from April is powered by a Samsung Exynos processor that supports only 2G, 3G and Wi-Fi networks.

The new Galaxy S5 4G model, just like the 3G variant will also be released in Shimmery White, Charcoal Black and Copper Gold colour options and will boast Download Booster and Wi-Fi MiMo technologies. Download Booster is a feature that allows users access 4G and Wi-Fi at the same time to download data faster. The Wi-Fi 802.11ac and 2X2 MIMO Multi-Input Multi-Output technology endows Galaxy S5 with two internal Wi-Fi antennas that increase the connection and accelerate the speed of Wi-Fi.

Samsung Galaxy S5 4G also includes 5.1′ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920x1080p and runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box.

The handset comes with 16GB internal memory expandable via microSD card for up to 128GB and has 2GB of RAM. Samsung Galaxy S5 4G highlights a 16MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front-facing camera, and it is animated by a 2,800mAh battery.

In terms of connectivity and communication the smartphone comes with Bluetooth 4.0 technology, microUSB 3.0, IrLED and NFC.

The device also features Ultra Power Saving Mode, Quick Connect, S Health, IP67 certification for dust & water resistance, Emergency Mode, Private Mode and Kids Mode.

The telecom operators providing 4G services in the Indian market are Airtel and Aircel and with the purchase of the Samsung Galaxy S5 4G device, Airtel offers its subscribers 5GB of data free for two months.
