Sony has started to roll out the official Android 4.4.2 software update to the Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia T2 Ultra Dual devices. The new Android 4.4.2 KitKat software build for Xperia T2 Ultra is listed with number 19.1.A.0.473, and for Xperia T2 Ultra Dual handsets the software build is number 19.1.C.0.116.
The OTA updates for the two handsets should start any time now since Sony has updated both software product webpages to point out the new update including the changelog.
So owners of Sony Xperia T2 Ultra and T2 Ultra Dual along with Android 4.4.2 KitKat update will receive the usual KitKat features and enhancements such as new boot animation and themes, white status bar icons, translucent navigation bar, tweaked quick settings and status bar, cloud printing, color emoji support, new Location menu, full screen album and movie art in the lock screen and immersive mode.
The Android 4.4.2 also arrive with stability, performance and battery improvements, enhanced email app, updated Camera application and compatibility with the SmartBand SWR10 and Lifelog app.
As all OTA updates, the Xperia T2 Ultra and T2 Ultra Dual Android 4.4-KitKat updates are being rolled out in phases, meaning that not all users of the mentioned devices might be able to download and install it at once.
However, once your handset will be suitable to receive the new Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware build you should receive an automatic system update message in your notification bar. All you need to do is tap on that message, choose download and then install after the download is completed.
If the system update notification failed to prompt you, you can manually check for available updates by going to Settings -> About phone -> Software updates -> Check now.
The Android 4.4.2 update for Xperia T2 Ultra and T2 Ultra Dual should have a size of over 500 MB, and in order to avoid data traffic is recommended for you to download it using a WiFi Internet connection.
