Update Galaxy Note 8.0 (Wi-Fi) with OTA Android 4.2.2 XXCMI1 official Firmware

  2. Extract the downloaded firmware file to obtain a .tar.md5 file and some additional files.
  3. Download Odin app and save it to the computer.
  4. Extract the ODIN zip file to get Odin3 v3.07.exe and some other files.
  5. Power off completely the Galaxy Note 8.0 device.
  6. Boot it into Download Mode (Press and keep holding the Volume Down, Home and Power buttons at  the same time until a construction Android robot icon together with a warning triangle is displayed on the device’s screen, then tap Volume Up button to enter into Download Mode.
  7. Open the ODIN app on PC as Administrator.
  8. Connect the device to PC using the USB cable while the device is still in Download Mode.
  9. Wait until the ODIN recognizes the Galaxy Note 8.0 device and the “added” message is displayed together with the ID: COM box will turned light blue.
  10. From ODIN click PDA button and select the downloaded .tar.md5 file.
  11. Important: In Odin, make sure Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options are enabled. Also, ensure that the Re-partition checkbox is not enabled (selected).
  12. Verify once again the steps above are done correctly.
  13. Click the Start button from ODIN to start the installation process.
  14. When the firmware file is installed the device will reboot and soon a Pass message with green background will be displayed into ODIN app’s interface.
  15. Now, you can safely disconnect the device from the PC by removing the USB cable.

If the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 device is stuck at the first boot animation should do the following steps:

  • Reboot the device into Recovery Mode. To do this you need press and keep holding the Volume Up and Power buttons in the same time.

  • Return into Recovery Mode and chose Reboot system now option.
