A new Android 4.4.2 update is now available for international Samsung Galaxy S5 powered by the Snapdragon 801device. The new update is for build number G900FXXU1ANE4 and is for Samsung Galaxy S5 with Snapdragon 801 CPU with a quad-core Krait 400 clocked at 2.5 Ghz.

It is available for Samsung Galaxy S5 device users in Nordic countries.  This step by step guide is especially released for Galaxy S5 users who have not received the OTA update notification.  The good thing is that this new G900FXXU1ANE4 build can be flashed on any unlocked Samsung First, download and install a suitable USB Drivers for Samsung Galaxy S5 device on your PC.

Now, enable the USB Debugging Mode of S5 (SM-G900F) device.

It is to be noted that the Android Source team cannot be held liable or responsible for any problem caused during the process.

Pre-requisites:

  • Go to Settings>Developer Options> Check the USB debugging Option.
  • Take a backup of data. If the S5 device has any custom images such as CWM or TWRP, you can use the same for data backup.
  • Make sure the device is at least 85% charged. The S5 device should be factory unlocked.
  • The device will lose all custom configurations, kernels, or custom ROM with the flashing of the stock firmware. Moreover, the custom recovery image (CWM or TWRP) will be replaced by the stock one.
  • Once the new stock firmware is flashed on your S5 device the root access will be lost.
  • The new Android 4.4.2 KitKat (G900FXXU1ANE4) firmware is fully compatible with Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900F device.
  • Installing this version on any other variant might damage your S5 device, verify the model number of the Galaxy S5 device: go to SettingsAbout phoneModel number.

How to update the Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900F to G900FXXU1ANE4 Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

  1. Download the Android 4.4.2 G900FXXU1ANE4 and save it in your PC.
  2. Now,  download the Odin 3.09 application on the computer.
  3. Now, extract the downloaded firmware zip file by using an extracting application and get the .tar.md5 file and few additional files.
  4. Now, extract the ODIN zip app and get the Odin3 v.3.09.exe file.
  5. Power off the Samsung Galaxy S5 device.
  6. Boot the device into Download Mode (Press and keep holding the Home, Power, and Volume Down buttons together).
  7. Make sure that a suitable USB drivers for Samsung Galaxy S5 device is installed on you PC.
  8. Run ODIN application as an Administrator.
  9. Now, connect the Samsung Galaxy S5 device to PC using the USB cable keeping the device is in Download Mode.
  10. Wait until the ODIN application detects the device.
  11. Once the device is successfully connected the ID:COM box from ODIN will turn light blue r with COM port number.
  12. In ODIN application, click on AP button and select the extracted firmware file with .tar.md5 extension.
  13. Next, from ODIN enable the AUTO REBOOT and F.RESET TIME checkboxes . make sure that the Re-Partition checkbox is not checked.
  14. Make verification once again.
  15. Click the Start button on ODIN application.
  16. The flashing process should start now.
  17. Wait a few minutes to complete.
  18. When the flashing process is over, the device will automatically restart.
  19. Once the home screen is displayed on the device, you will need to disconnect the device from the PC.

Congratulation, the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat (G900FXXU1ANE4) stock firmware file is now installed on the Samsung Galaxy S5 device.
