The Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 (2012 Edition) has received the Officially Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update.

We will teach you how you can flash the new Android 4.4.2 KitKat update on Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (GT-N8000) manually.

The new update is released on 18 May this year and comes with the build number N8000XXUDNE4 pushed out Over the Air or though Samsung Kies server. For the moment, it is available for Galaxy Note 10.1 users in Germany and expected to be released in other parts of world.

Before installing the official firmware, users are advised to follow some pre-requisites listed below:

  • First, install the suitable USB drivers for Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 device in order to connect your device with the PC.
  • Enable the USB Debugging Mode on the device from Settings> Developer Option spatch.

How to flash N8000XXUDNE4 Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware on Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (GT-N8000) device:

  1. Download the official firmware file from Here or click here and save them on your computer.
  2. Download Odin v3.09 from here.
  3. Now, extract the firmware file by using a suitable extracting tool to obtain a .tar.md5 file and few other files.
  4. Next, Extract the ODIN software to obtain Odin3 v 3.09 and few other supplementary files.
  5. Turn off the Samsung Galaxy Note device.
  6. Boot the device into Download Mode by pressing and keep holding in the same time the Home, Power and Volume Down buttons.
  7. Run the ODIN application on your PC as an Administrator.
  8. Now, connect the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 device to your PC by using the USB cord while the device is in Download Mode.
  9. Wait for Odin to recognize the device. When the Galaxy 10.1 device is connected successfully, the ID: COM box in ODIN and the COM port number will be colored blue.
  10. In ODIN application, tap on AP button and from there select the firmware file that has .tar.md5 extension.
  11. Now, enable the Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time checkboxes in ODIN application’s interface.
  12. Be sure that the Re-Partition checkbox is not checked.
  13. When everything from above is ok click Start button in ODIN.
  14. The flashing process should start now and you need to wait few minutes to ne completed.
  15. When the flashing process is done, the device will restart automatically.
  16. Once the device’s home screen is displayed you can disconnect the device from the PC.

Congratulation, the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update (N8000XXUDNE4) should now be flashed on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 device.

Over the Settings> About tablet you can verify the firmware version.

Troubleshooting:

If the Android tablet gets stuck when the booting animation appears:

  • Go to the recovery mode by pressing and keep holding the Volume Up, Home, Power buttons together.
  • From the main menu of Recovery Mode, press Wipe date/Factory reset and the press Wipe Cache Partition.
  • Once the action is done, you should reboot the device by selecting the reboot system now.
  • Note: In the Recovery Mode, you need to use the Volume Keys to scroll between options and the Power button to select the option.
  • If you’ll perform a wipe task all phone’s internal memory data will be erased.
