Samsung Galaxy S3 Android device has received the official Android 4.1.2 XXBLL3 update. But this doesn’t mean that any novice can try to update and accomplish it successfully. You need to know the installation mechanism.

  • Enable the USB debugging option on your device by following the next path: “Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB debugging”. This operation is necessary in order to assure the connection between the device and the PC.
  • Verify if your device has enough power left in its battery. Your battery must be at least 65 charged to complete this operation.
  • A Windows based computer, and the original USB cable for your S3 device are required to complete this task.
  • Uninstall or disable the Antivirus and the firewall or any other security programs that you’re running in both devices, PC and smartphone in order to be sure that these programs don’t interfere in the this updating process.

How to Update Samsung Galaxy S3 GT I9305 to Official Jelly Bean 4.1.2 XXBLL3 firmware- manually method.

  1. First of all, download and install the Samsung KIES on your PC and install the proper drivers for Samsung Galaxy S3 device. If you have already installed the drivers in your PC, skip this step.
  2. Download and install the ODIN app on your computer.
  3. Now, extract the downloaded update file on your desktop PC.
  4. Open ODIN app on your PC.
  5. Turn off your Samsung Galaxy S3 device.
  6. Reboot your device into the download mode. To do that, you need to press and keep holding the Volume down + Power + OK buttons simultaneously.
  7. Connect your S3 to your PC, using the USB cable cord.
  8. On the ODIN app, you have to see the “added” notification message and the ID:COM section to see it appear yellow or blue in color.

  12. Important: Don’t make any changes on ODIN app; make sure that the Re-partition box is unchecked.
  13. Now, when you want to begin the update process click on “START” button from ODIN.
  14. Wait until the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean XXBLL3 firmware is successfully flashed.
  15. When the flashing process is done, the ODIN app will display the “pass” message.
  16. After the installation is done, disconnect your S3 device from the PC and reboot the S3 device.

Note: If during the flashing process, the ODIN app gets stuck or its interface is frozen, you have to do the following steps:

  • First of all, close the ODIN app.
  • Then, remove the S3 device’ USB cable from the PC.
  • Now, force restart your S3 device.
  • Reinstall the proper drivers once again in your PC.
  • Re-Open the ODIN app and connect once again the S3 device to the PC.

Note: If your S3 device, at the end of the updating procedure, gets stuck or enter a boot loop, you need to follow the below steps:

  • First of all, reboot your S3 device into its recovery mode menu. To do that you need to press and hold the Volume UP + Power + OK buttons simultaneously and release the same when the Recovery Mode menu is displayed.
  • From the Recovery Mode menu select “wipe data factory reset” and after that select “wipe cache partition”.
  • Now, after you have wiped the cache partition select “+++go back+++” to return in the main menu and from there choose the “reboot system now” option.
