How To Update Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 Wi-Fi With Official Android 4.4.2 KitKat Firmware

This step by step guide can be used to manually install the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat XXU0ANE6 firmware on your Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 Wi-Fi model.

Pre-requisites:

  • This guide is applicable for Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 Wi-Fi model number SM-T230 device.

  1. First, you need to download the Android 4.4.2 T230XXU0ANE6 firmware file from here. (Create a new account on SamMobile if you don’t have already one).
  2. Extract the downloaded zip file and save the T230XXU0ANE6 tar.md5 file on your PC.
  3. Download the ODIN3 V3.09 file from here and extract its content on your PC.
  4. Turn off the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 device.
  5. Boot the device into Android Download Mode. (Press the Volume Down, Home and Power buttons simultaneously).
  6. When the device is booted in Download Mode, you should open the ODIN exe file on your PC.
  7. Now, connect you phone to the PC by using the USB cable.

  15. Note that the update might take up around 12 minutes, so you should wait until all the firmware files are successfully installed.
  16. When the flashing process is done, then the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 will get an automatically reboot in normal mode.
  17. Now, you can disconnect the device from your PC when the Home screen and Lock screen are displayed and the ODIN application displays the green PASS message.
  18. Join your Google Account information in order to take the full control over your device.
