Launched in April in the Indian market at Rs. 13,990, Lava Iris 504Q+ smartphone now receives the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update via over-the-air.

With the update to Android 4.4.2 KitKat, Lava Iris 504Q+ device offer its users an enhanced user interface, higher battery life and software performance for an enriched user experience.

Other changes included in Android 4.4.2 update are a new dialer app which lets users automatically to prioritize contacts based on the most often dialed numbers in the phone book.

When a user gets a call from an unknown number, its device will search for matches from businesses with a local listing on Google Maps.

So if you are a Lava Iris 504Q+ owner when the Android 4.4.2 KitKat is ready to hit your device you should receive an automated system message in the notification bar, and in order to download and install the update you just need to tap on the message and follow the on-screen guidance.

Alternatively, you can manually check if an update is available for your device under Settings-> About Phone->System Updates.

Note that the update will be downloaded on your device’s memory card only, so you need to have memory card inserted in your smartphone while installing.

After installation, the Android 4.4.2-KitKat software can run in both cases with or without memory card in smartphone.
