It is time for the CyanogenMod monthly release, the CM 11 M8 which is the “new” stable version. The CM 11 M8 is based on Android 4.4.4 and brings a breath of fresh air that it is not limited to the latest version of the green robot.
The CM 11 M8 changelog, in fact, speaks of newly supported models, tweaks, bug fixes and various changes, particularly in settings and Trebuchet launcher.
The CM 11 M8 can be used to install the Android 4.4.4, over the coming days on more than 80 devices, and new devices will be able to receive the CM 11 M8 software for the first time such as the Sony Xperia Z2, Xiaomi Mi2, Oppo Find 7a / s, OnePlus One and the list will continue to expand, and more devices will receive an update in the coming days.
CyanogenMod 11 M8 comes with fix VPN-related merge of 4.4.3, ‘Heads up’ notification, ‘interface’ replaced by ‘Status Bar,’ ‘Notification Drawer’, and ‘Gestures’ and moved ‘Extended Desktop’ in ‘Screen.’
M8 also added Protected Apps function and Search Panel Google Now option to Trebuchet launcher, Whisper push fixed, and more.
This new release candidate of CM 11 M8 that can be downloaded from here, can be installed on your Android device but you need to be aware of the fact that by installing custom firmware you will loose the guarantee of your device and in order to restore it you will need to reinstall the stock firmware that arrived on board when you bought it.
