Sony is rolling out an update to the WALKMAN app for Xperia devices and brings the build version 8.4.A.1.4. The update is 11.4MB in size and lets you get detailed views on your songs.
A little arrow remains below every song and brings up a menu enabling you to open the song, attach it to a playlist, share it, see the artist or set it as a ringtone. The new version of the Sony Walkman app changes also the sliding navigation menu and feature new icons for the menu items.
Now the “Songs” “Artists“ and “Albums” menu items from the previous version( the build number 8.3.A.0.7) are replaced by a new menu item named “My Library.” When you hit My Library, you can see your music sorted by the mentioned headers. The app also allows you now to go to Artist or Album from whatever music item.
The new iteration brings also bug fixes and performance improvements as well as WALKMAN has been renamed to Walkman.
The update is pushed globally to the Xperia devices, and you will not find the app through the Google Play Store but through the “software update” section of your Xperia device settings.
